Reginald Nicholas

Reginald “ReggieNic” Nicholas, Jr. is a skilled, multi-dimensional musician/producer/studio engineer from New Orleans, LA. He has been playing the drums for over 12 years and producing for 8. His roots began in church; namely Olive Branch Baptist Church, Abundant Life Tabernacle, Regular Baptist Church and Greater St. Stephens Full Gospel Baptist Church. However, he has expanded his talents across several genres of music including Gospel, R&B, Jazz, Funk and Hip Hop. Reginald is a proficient musician who has worked with artists such as the Brass-A-Holics Go-Go Brass Funk Band, Kourtney Heart (Jive Records), Burnell Taylor (American Idol top 5), Franklin IV (Sunday’s Best Season 3), Dee-1 (RCA recording artist), Zena Moses and the Rue Fiya Allstars, T Cherrelle, Princess Denisia, Tyrone Foster and the Arc Singers, Josh Kagler and Robert Pate to name a few. A few songs that he has produced and engineered have made it to radio syndication, including: “Heartbeat” and “Trending Topic” by T Cherrelle, “Ugly Truth”, “Mama Told Me”, and “Turn Me Up” by Kourtney Heart, “CTY” and “Closure” by Princess Denisia, and “Worthy” by Tyrone Foster and the Arc Singers. He has the God-given ability to transform a mediocre idea or song into a masterpiece. His concepts are unique and imaginative, resulting in tracks that attract not only the musically-inclined listeners but also those simply desiring feel-good music. Reginald’s experience and talents have surpassed the boundaries of the city, as he has traveled to Europe with the internationally known gospel group Craig Adams and the Voices of New Orleans and Nicole Slack-Jones, to Brazil with award-winner Kurt Brunus, and to Norway with Tyrone Foster and the Arc Singers. It is for these reasons that he is already endorsed by AJP Drums, PreSonus Audio and Alclair In-Ear Monitors. They’ve recognized the talent and expertise that he exhibits.

Reginald is a personable and grounded individual with a heart for music. Currently, he can be seen performing around the U.S. with the award winning Brass-A-Holics, Kourtney Heart, Burnell Taylor, Dee-1, Kris Baptiste, Nicole Slack-Jones and Tyrone Foster and the Arc Singers. In addition, he will be accompanying a few artists at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, such as: Brass-A-Holics, Burnell Taylor, Dee-1, Tyrone Foster and the Arc Singers, McMain H.S. and Abundant Life Church.
